Sixth-grade Hikaru Shindo's discovery of a bloodstained game board leads to an encounter with the ghost of Go master Fujiwara-no-Sai and the formation of an unbeatable Go team.

Goku and Bulma have found five of the Dragon Balls, but they must find Kame-Sen'nin, the Turtle Hermit, and face the Emperor Pilaf, who wants the balls for himself, before they will have all seven.

In the final round of the Strongest Under the Heavens tournament, it comes down to Goku and Jackie Chun, the mysterious, powerful old man. After the tournament, Goku continues his quest for the seven Dragon Balls, but the evil Red Ribbon Army wants them too and Goku must stop their plans.
